Huge thanks to everyone involved in last week’s celebrations. To the young musicians, young composers and our dedicated professionals – Andrew Wilson-Dickson, Matthew Williams, Gareth Jones, Steve Bingham, Chris Brannick and Lynne Plowman. Not forgetting the parents and teachers who give so much time and support to these enthusiastic and talented young people throughout the year.

Our week culminated in the Young Musician of Dyfed Final on Saturday 8 April and Young Composers Concert on Sunday 9 April at Rhosygilwen. Congratulations to George Nash on winning the title Young Musician of Dyfed, runner up Ioan Price (clarinet) and Ifan Llywellyn (trombone) in third place.

The weekend also saw our Chair, Emyr Wynne Jones presenting the charity with a cheque for £10,000 raised through his Kilimanjaro Challege. An amazing feat on his behalf.

A call out now to young instrumentalist players to consider entering Young Musician of Dyfed later this year and joining us for our masterclasses on 4th and 5th November.

And if you’re a budding young composer, you can join us on our journey to write a piece for piano trio starting this September.
